Endpoint Security By Bitdefender Cannot Be Successfully Repaired

In this post, We will cover about Endpoint Protection in SCCM.

• Installation of Endpoint Protection Point role
• Deploy Endpoint Protection to Client Machines.
• Overview of managing Endpoint Protection Anti-malware Policies.

Installation of Endpoint Protection role

Open ConfigMgr console, Navigate to Administration -> Site Configuration -> Servers and Site System Roles. Select the Primary Site where you want to install Endpoint Protection Role. Right click and Select Add Site System Roles Select the Endpoint Protection Point and Click on Next. Endpoint Protection uses Software Update point to download and deploy antimalware definition updates, Please makes sure you configured software updates in your hierarchy or your anitmalware policies to use an alternative definition update method.                                                                                                                                                                                     Accept the Endpoint Protection license terms and Click on Next. Select your mmembership type and Click on next. Review the Summary and Click on Next. Once role installed successfully, Click on Close. You can review the EPSetup.log file under <ConfigMgr Installation Path>/Logs/EPSetup.logfor Endpoint Protection Point installation status.

Deploy Endpoint Protection to Client Machines

Create a collection if you want to deploy the Endpoint Protection for a specific devices. In this scenario, I created a collection named “Endpoint Protected Devices”. Create a new custom client settings for devices to deploy and manage Endpoint Protection agent from ConfigMgr. Navigate to Administration -> Client Settings -> Create Custom Client Device Settings. Select Endpoint Projection. Edit the settings as below to Install and Manage Endpoint Protection client on client computers and Click on Ok. Right click on newly created client settings and select Deploy. Deploy to Collection and Click on OK. Once you deployed the client settings, You can monitor the Endpoint Protection Status under Monitoring -> Endpoint Protection Status.

Manage Endpoint Protection Anti-malware Policies

You can create a custom antimalware policies for Endpoint Protection like scan schedules, Scan Settings etc, (Antimalware will be covered in detail in my next post). You can perform a Quick Scan, Full Scan and Download Definition for the collections manually.
